In 1963 Pierre  Boulle (author of "Bridge Over the River Kwai") published "Planet of the Apes" a novel about space explorers landing on a planet dominated by apes with humans housed in zoos and hunted for sport. It was a wry parable on science, evolution, and the relationship between man and animal.

Planet of the Apes inspired 9 feature films, a television series, an animated series, and a long-running comic book series. Of course this sweatshirt isn't THAT Planet of the Apes.
