Many people ask me why I created Nerd Chic Boutique. Well, I created this fashion line to offer playful, fun, and eccentric clothes for guys. The goal is to celebrate genre entertainment without being too blatantly commercial. You won't find any giant Marvel or DC logos or Star Wars text.
However, the brand draws inspiration from famous genre entertainment properties: science fiction, comics, horror, movies, and music. We create articles of clothing that are fun and unique. These clothes range from subtle to bold statements.
When I thought about creating a store, my goal was to offer cool and affordable clothes that I would enjoy wearing. I wanted something comfortable without any hidden costs. You know how it is when you see a shirt for $30, but then you have to spend $100 to get free shipping or pay an additional $15 for shipping. Plus, there's sales tax on top of that. At Nerd Chic Boutique, the price you see is the price you pay. There are no additional charges for shipping or sales tax. Everything is factored into the price you see.
However, in order to offer creative, comfortable, and well-fitting clothes with good material, I had to make a compromise. The shipping time is not exactly fast. Here's how it works: the designs are done here in California, then they are sent overseas to be printed, sewn, stitched, and packaged. After that, they are shipped across continents to your home. This process takes about four to six weeks. There were options to ship faster, but it significantly increased the price. I thought it would be more appealing to save money by choosing a slower shipping option. (If you need something faster, reach out to us at hello@nerdchicboutique.com.)
Another reason to consider shopping at Nerd Chic Boutique is that you won't be wearing the same Spider-Man or Star Wars shirt as everyone else. Our clothes are genuinely limited run, like the craft brewery version of wardrobe, rather than the mass-produced, mainstream clothing.
I hope this information is helpful and interesting. Please check out our catalog and stay tuned for more blog posts in the future.
